From teen success starring on Nickelodeon’s critically-acclaimed & Emmy winning live-action music series “The Fresh Beat Band,” and after a series of high-profile collaborations from Justin Bieber to Wyclef Jean, Cuban-American singer & songwriter Yvette Nacer is for the first time stepping into her own as a solo artist, and today we would love to arrange an interview with you and share her brand new music video for lead off single “Who We Were Before,” one of the more stripped down and personal songs on the album. Enjoy this video stream below after the jump and please share this with friends.

Many will at first glance recognize Yvette as the vivacious, guitar playing “Kiki” on Nickelodeon’s Emmy winning “The Fresh Beat Band,” where she performed a sold-out worldwide tour in front of over half a million fans. After wrapping the show’s series finale, she signed a deal with BMG as a songwriter and entered the recording studio, carving her own lane to create a new sound that was all her own.

Now Yvette leaves the massively popular kid’s show behind. She is all grown up and mesmerizing in her debut solo artist music video which she co-directed, baring her soul and as always, delivering solid vocals and musicianship. Armed with a versatile voice, powerful stage presence, a unique lyrical perspective and raw, unfettered talent, Nacer captivates on “Who We were Before.”In her new solo foray, Nacer flexes her vast musical chops (from songwriting to production, violin and other instruments) as she explores some of the struggles and victories that come with becoming a better human.

Although her songs have been heard on a variety of films and TV shows, Sirius XM, and various features, Yvette Nacer’s talent is not just limited to music. The multifaceted artist is also an award winning actress, having landed such coveted roles as ‘Cha Cha’ in Fox’s star-studded cast of “Grease: Live,”‘Vanessa’ in the 1st Nat’l Broadway tour of “In the Heights,” and ‘Kiki ‘in the beloved Emmy Award Winning TV series “The Fresh Beat Band.”Having collaborated with including Justin Bieber, Jason Mraz, Wyclef Jean, Ne-Yo, Gloria Estefan, among others, Nacer brings a mélange of Latin-influenced sounds, urban vibes, and a soulful voice that weaves itself effortlessly into her songs. Yvette Nacer is not just one to watch; she’s one to watch out for.
Since her first violin lesson at age three, Yvette Nacer has been immersed in a musically diverse world that established her early on as the rare kind of singer/musician who is comfortable in any genre. She recently won the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest and was signed to BMG Publishing. A feminist and avid humanitarian, Ava is an advocate for Global Green, Rock N’ Roll Camp for Girls, and is a Champion for the Alzheimer’s Associations. In 2014, she founded Creative Minds Care, a nonprofit whose vision is to see a world without Alzheimer’s Disease, and whose first undertaking is creating an annual benefit concert to raise money for research.
