Z Money – Shawty Paid [Mixtape]

A hustler since birth and an expert in getting money by any means necessary, Z Money is one of Chicago rap’s most fascinating figures. Revealing some of his trade secrets and reveling in the fruit of his labors, Z Money shares Shawty Paid, his latest mixtape. Wielding his high-pitched sing-song, the newfound ATL native combines the ice-cold honesty favored in his hometown of Chicago with the extravagant boasts favored by rappers in his adopted city of Atlanta. The project boasts a regionally and sonically diverse array of producers, including DY and Southside of 808 MafiaChaseTheMoneyBandplay, and Lil Mexico, who deliver sinister soundscapes for Z to apply his street-savvy bars. Giving a home to singles Millions,” the Gucci Mane and Hoodrich Pablo Juan-featuring lead single, and the menacing Key Glock collab “1017 Paper Route,” and with an additional guest appearance from Yung MalShawty Paid arrives via 1017 Eskimo/Alamo. Enjoy this audio stream below after the jump and please share this with friends.

Born into poverty on the West Side of Chicago, Z Money lifted himself out of the hood with his sharp rhymes and strong entrepreneurial instincts, using his earnings as a rapper to start businesses in trucking, restaurants, real estate, and dog-breeding. The 1017 Eskimo signee explored his past in a recent FADER Frequencies mini-documentary, which introduced us to his father, the owner of a trucking business, who infected Z Money with the hustler’s mentality. Buoyed by Z Money’s engaging personality, the doc shows how Z’s work ethic translated into rap, as he spends hours in the studio searching for the perfect beat to demolish.
