When Zayn initially announced he was going solo, he said he wanted to live a real life – this is the first look at what that life really means. In the story, written by deputy editor Duncan Cooper and photographed by Francesco Nazardo, Zayn speaks candidly about his new solo music, his life as a Muslim pop star, and the role of family in his rapidly changing life. Enjoy this video stream below after the jump.
I dont feel like people really know what Im going to give them, musically, Zayn says. And once they hear it, I feel like they will understand me a little bit more, and theyll understand why I did what I did, and why I left the band, and why I had to write this shit down. Because for fivenot even for five years, for ten years, this album has been in my brain, and its just been there, sat with me, needing to be out.
