Yesterday, the cast of If Beale Street Could Talk, Regina King (American Crime Story), Stephan James (Shots Fired), newcomer KiKi Layne and Academy Award-winning director Barry Jenkins took over Essence Festival in New Orleans. If Beale Street Could Talk is an adaptation of James Baldwin’s 1974 novel by the same name. The film will be released in November 2018.
Jenkins and the cast took to the festival floor and visited various stages where they talked about their experience filming If Beale Street Could Talk and the importance of telling the story of love that’s centered around family.
